How this estimate works

01

It starts with what buyers have actually paid

Private companies usually sell for a multiple of their EBITDA, and larger companies tend to command higher multiples. We start from the average multiples paid in private-equity-backed transactions for companies of your size.

Average multiple by company EBITDA, 2021 to 2025
$3M to $5M6.8x
$5M to $8M7.3x
$8M to $10M7.4x
Over $10M8.2x
02

Then we adjust for what buyers price

Two similar companies can sell a full turn of EBITDA apart or more. Sector, growth, recurring revenue, reliance on a few large customers and how much the business depends on you all move the number. Each of your answers raises or lowers the multiple, and the result panel shows by how much.

03

Real offers depend on real buyers

An estimate is a starting point. The price a buyer will actually pay depends on your full financials, the deal terms and which buyers are interested. Our clients are private equity firms and corporate buyers actively looking for companies like yours, and a conversation with us costs nothing.

Base multiples: GF Data (an ACG company), averages for private-equity-backed transactions, 2021 to 2025. Adjustments for growth, recurring revenue, customer concentration and owner involvement are our own estimates.
